“My imagination is a monastery and I am its monk.”

This weekend, I watched the luscious Campion film Bright Star. I’ve never been much of a Keats fan but I take that all back now that I know he was tragically love struck.
Oh, it was deliciously romantic but beyond that I have to say, one of my favorite parts of the movie was when his devoted friend Mr. Brown tells his neighbors (something like – damn frustrated I didn’t write it down) “don’t think that because we are looking out the window that we aren’t working.” Then he goes on to say something else like “we are opening our minds to the poetry.”
If anyone sees the film and can remember that line, please tell me the exact words. Because, I know the day will come when I’m going to need to repeat it. Verbatim.

It always impresses me when you are able to get so many facial features and personal expressions into a few lines. I wish, I wish, I wish I could learn that! Thais is great. And I love the quote. Both of them. And now I´ll have to see the film. I wold have anyway, I love costume-dramas :-)
